Parent Managers

This involves assisting with the teams each Monday afternoon, along with refereeing your game in conjunction with the opposing team's Manager. If you are not familiar with the rules for your team's level, these will be provided and can be found on the website www.touchsouthland.co.nz

Parents are responsible for getting their children to and from The Events Centre.

Weekly draws are posted on the touch Southland website www.touchsouthland.co.nz, under the 'Queenstown Primary' menu. This link is also available from the Parent Calendar

Competition Format

The Primary competition is focused on participation rather than winning.  Game scores will be recorded, but there will be no finals at the end of the round.

The draws will be posted on our website www.touchsouthland.co.nz.

The draw will be displayed at the module.

Games will only be cancelled due to bad weather or if the council closes the grounds.

Cancellations will be on the Touch Southland website www.touchsouthland.co.nz.

Schools need to let Touch Southland know ASAP of any planned school camps/trips etc that will clash with Touch.

If your team has to default after the draw has been sent out, you must inform Touch Southland and not the opposition team.

Each Coach will be required to referee half a game each or supply a referee. If you have someone who wants to be involved with refereeing then please let us know and we will organise some coaching for them.

The referee in charge of the game shall be the sole judge on all matters pertaining to the game.

One coach is permitted to run in behind the Y0-2 and Y3&4 teams to give advice and encouragement, but please ensure this person does not interfere with or try to take over the role of the referee.

Competition Rules

The Touch New Zealand Touch Playing Rules (8th edition) will apply with the following modifications specified below.

Primary Rules can be found on the website www.touchsouthland.co.nz under Rules of Touch.
