Year 5-8: Cycle Safety Programme 2017

Constable Wayne Park and Kirsty Barr (QLDC) delivered a safe cycling programme to Year 5-8 students in Week 4 of Term 1 with the help of parents and teachers.

Students played games encouraging one handed riding and practised hand signals and intersection turns. Year 7/8 students also put these skills into practice in a real life situation on our nearby roads demonstrating good etiquette when riding on shared paths.

A huge thank you to all the parents who generously gave up their time and for the teachers who supported the delivery of this programme. Feedback on the programme is welcomed by contacting Kirsty Barr.

Below are copies of the cycle safety checklist and the theory presentation given to all children Year5-8.
