We have lots of changes to the Winter Sports programme this year, particularly with skiing. Our Yr7/8 students will ski on Wednesdays and the Yr4,5,6 students will ski on Fridays. The Kids Mini Cross is a community based event, encouraging Kiwi Kids between the ages of 5 to 14 years old to ride a mountain bike and having a go. To view the full details please open this link.

YR6 camp to Macetown delayed until tomorrow (Thurs). Kids will have an activities day around Queenstown and stay night in the hall. Kids still to meet at hall this morning.

Both cycle skills days have been cancelled. We will now run these days again at the beginning of term 4 to promote safe cycling and walking for summer.

Our cycle skills programme will be held on Thursday 23 Feb and Friday 24 Feb - please note the class times and days have changed due to clashes with other events, please view the timetable. QLDC, Element, Police and Sport Central are behind the district’s Walk n Wheels promotion at Arrowtown School.

Tuesday, 7 Feb - School starts back. (Children go straight to their classrooms.)

All year 8 students will be issued with an enrolment form to transfer their dental treatment to the dentist. They need to fill out this form and it is required back at the Arrowtown Dental Clinic by December 16. Treatment is free until they are 18 years of age. For any queries please call 03 442 1769.

The dental clinic is closed from Dec 23 - Jan 9, and open again on Jan 10 - Tues, Wed, Thur, 8am - 4.30pm.

The ski groups for week 3 (19 August) of the year 4-8 winter sports programme are available to view here. The daily programme can be viewed here under snowpsorts programme.

We will have a 10am start, Thursday 18 August, due to the forecast of severe frosts as many of our teachers live in Queenstown/Arthurs Point. Buses will run 1hr later than usual.

The library will be open for children if parents need to drop children off early.

We will have a delayed start at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, 17 August as icy roads are predicted in the morning.

Buses will run an hour later than normal.

School is closed today - Tuesday, 16 August - because of weather/road conditions.

All schools in the Wakatipu Basin have a delayed start today (Weds 13 July) because of road conditions. School will start at 10am today. All buses in the Wakatipu Basin will be running one hour late this morning.

The pre-fitting of rental equipment for children participating in the school ski programme that was set for Friday 10 June has been postponed, as there are not yet rental staff available to fit the equipment, due to the complete lack of snow. We do not yet have an alternative date as it is in the weather gods hands!

This Friday 8 April we have the El Gregoe show performing ‘You’ve got the Power’ in the hall for all children. The show teaches key values that make the ingredients for good friendships with a strong emphasis on a bully free environment. The cost for the show is $4 per person.  Please return money in an envelope by Friday morning to the office.  Please have your child’s name, room number and ‘El Gregoe show’ on the front of the envelope.

Just a reminder that last week was the final week of touch rugby until T4.

Our school triathlon is coming up next Wednesday at the Events Centre in Frankton. A form should come home with your child, should our couriers lose the information you can download a copy here. Can all parents please indicate on the form if your child needs to take the bus or meet there.

The children will do the safety component in class. They do not require bikes.
